The Twelve Traditions provide guidelines for relationships between groups, members, the World Movement, and society at large. Issues of finances, public relations, donations, and goals are addressed in the Traditions. There is a short form and a long form of the Traditions. The Traditions were first published in the April 1946 issue of the AA Grapevine under the title “Twelve Points to Secure Our Future.”
