Hello, members of Alcoholics Anonymous in Area 87!

Each year, the AA movement invites the Regions of Canada and the United States to a week-long conference. "Each Region relies on its delegate to address current issues while helping the Movement prepare for its future. Delegates are responsible for understanding the experiences, perspectives and group conscience of their Region, while being accountable of the entire US/Canada Conference." (Service Manual, p. 32).

It is in this spirit that you are invited to an Assembly on Saturday, February 19, 2022; it will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. with ½ hour for lunch. On this occasion, you will be presented with some topics that should be discussed during the Conference which will take place from April 23 to 30, 2022 in New York. Workshops will follow the presentation of each subject during which you will be able to express your opinions. Reports will be made after each of your discussions. In total, we anticipate about 5 topics that will be covered.

We are still developing the program and will post it on the Region's website as soon as it is available.
I therefore invite you group GSRs and committee coordinators, as well as any AA member of Area 87 interested in participating in an exercise in democracy; this is a chance for all of you to make your views known on the future of AA. I need to be enlightened.
